Contest Overview
Title
Satellite Observation Data Utilization Contest
Eligible Applicants
University students in the Asia-Pacific region Individuals and groups may apply. Groups
should generally consist of no more than three members.
Application Method
Please submit the completed application form.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to selected winners. The first-prize winning individual or team will also be
invited to participate in a field trip to meteorological institutions and companies in Japan.
Judging Process
Winners will be selected by the Foundation’s selection committee.
Contest Flow
1. Submission of Application Form
Please complete the application form and submit it to the email address
provided in the “Contact & Submission” section. The application guidelines
and application form are available for download at the bottom of this page.
Deadline 31 July 2026
2. Receiving and Analyzing Satellite Data
Submitted applications will be reviewed, and those selected will receive a satellite data reception kit.
Participants will assemble the kit, configure the program, and begin receiving and analyzing satellite data.
September-December 2025
3. Submission of Report
From the analyzed data (images), select your best results and submit a report.

December 2025
4. Determine the winner
The submitted reports will be reviewed by a panel of judges to determine the winner.
